Google Now: cos'è, come si utilizza (Google Now: what it is, how to use it)

Google Now è un'applicazione che Big G ha messo a disposizione, oltre che agli utenti Android, anche a quelli Apple. Più precisamente è un assistente che fornisce informazioni su cosa potrebbe interessare ad un utente.

Facciamo degli esempi che ci aiutano a capire meglio. Immaginiamo una persona che si reca abitualmente a lavoro o a scuola: l'applicazione riconosce questo spostamento e fornisce informazioni sul traffico, sul tempo stimato di percorso, su eventuali ritardi. Se invece ci interessa un determinato volo, l'app ci restituisce lo stato del volo stesso e gli orari. Ci sono molti altri esempi da fare, ma innanzitutto cerchiamo di dare uno sguardo generale. Google Now è composta di schede: la scheda meteo che ci fornisce le indicazioni in tempo reale e le previsioni dei giorni seguenti e che si aggiorna in base al luogo in cui ci troviamo, la scheda delle Borse, la già citata scheda del traffico, la scheda del trasporto pubblico con le indicazioni delle stazioni ferroviarie e le fermate degli autobus, la scheda dello sport che mostra i risultati e i punteggi delle squadre da noi cercate e stabilite in base alla nostra navigazione web e altre ancora.

Una funzione ancor più interessante è l'uso della voce: è possibile impostare ad esempio una sveglia pronunciando "Imposta sveglia", cercare il risultato di una partita pronunciando, ad esempio, "Cosa ha fatto il Milan ieri sera?", chiamare una persona registrata nei contatti pronunciando "Chiama X"...e altre funzionalità. Insomma, Google Now risulta essere un'applicazione molto utile, una bella alternativa Android all'assistente vocale Siri.

Google Now is an application made by Big G that can be used not only for fans of Android but also for people who have an Iphone. it's a sort of "assistant" that gives information about possible interests of an user. Let's have some examples. Imagine a person who gets usually at work or at school: the app recognizes the route and gives him information about traffic, travel time or possible delays. If a person is searching for a specific journey, the app gives him information about the state of that journey and the schedules. There are a lot of examples to make, but let's have a general look. Google Now is made by profiles, like the meteo profile, or the traffic profile, but also the sport profile that shows the last results of our favourite teams or of the teams we've searched in the web. But, one of the most interesting things is the voice: for example you can set the alarm clock saying only "Set alarm clock", ask for the last result of a team saying "What did Milan yesterday?", call a person saying "Call (person)" and other features. So, Google Now gives the impression to be an useful app, a valid alternative to the Iphone vocal assistant Siri.
